Jesse Autumn and Birds Fled From Me perform as part of the Santa Cruz Institute of Contemporary Arts' First Friday Art Tour. The art show at the Dead Cow celebrates the last two years of incredible creative collaboration that has taken place at the Dead Cow studio with a large community of local musicians and artists. The art opening is at 5pm, concert at 8pm. An intimate concert - seating limited, so show up early if you can. Jesse and Rachel of Birds Fled From Me will be performing their original piano-based music, with a little pump organ, pedal harp and glockenspiel, and some special guests. A beautiful festival of harps for the Winter Solstice. Soloists this year are Jesse Autumn on double harp, Jennifer Cass on pedal harp, Midyne Spear on electric harp, and Toni Ogamachi on pedal harp. Also performing is the Community Music School Harp Orchestra, playing Cantonese, Arabic, and French folk tunes as well as modern pieces by Barry Phillips, Kim Robertson and Cat Stevens.
